The Boxborough Water Resource Committee (WRC) consists of individuals appointed to the committee by a unanimous vote of the Board of Health. The WRC works to develop solutions and long term strategies to protect one of our most important resources... water. The WRC exists to offer alternatives to individual onsite solutions (individual wells) due to water quality and water contamination issues. The WRC has begun test drilling of wells at potential water supply sites to: 1) assess the quantity and quality of the water, 2) prioritize those sites that are viable, and 3) plan for their long-term protection. This effort is important in identifying sites that could provide Boxborough with a public water supply in the future, should the need arise. For further information please review the links below:
There are no specific requirements for being a member of the WRC, other than being a Town resident and possessing a willingness to serve and an interest in the water supply. Individuals who would like more information are invited to contact Mary Cobleigh (978-263-1116, ext. 115) or attend one of our meetings which are posted online on the town calendar. |
