The Council on Aging is a group of seven individuals appointed by the Board of Selectmen for three-year terms. The Council meets once a month in the Town Hall. The meetings are posted at the Town Hall and on the website.  The Council works closely with the COA Coordinator,  who is in the office Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am-3:30pm.

The following are some of the duties of the Council on Aging Board and Coordinator:

  • Identify needs, develop and implement programs and services, educate citizens and advocate on behalf of elders.
  • Listen to seniors' wishes and suggestions for the Council.
  • Monthly newsletter; informing seniors of planned programs and information relevant to their lifestyle.
  • Also included in the newsletter are town-wide activities, which might be of interest to senior citizens.

Our meetings are open and anyone is welcome to sit-in or call the office and speak to the coordinator.

Learn how you can participate in the senior tax work-off program and about the current rules.
