Boxborough Neighborhood Network

Create a Neighborhood Network in your area. Join your neighbors in finding ways to know one another better, help one another out, and contribute to a sense of community. You can also create a system for dealing with emergencies, either man-made or natural, and coordinate your efforts with the town of Boxborough.

An individual, or small group of people, can initiate a Neighborhood Network for roughly 20 to 30 households. Since each neighborhood is unique, you will design your network to fit those involved. It's a lot of fun and takes little work, especially when many chip in.

Concord has roughly 140 Neighborhood Networks and Acton, to date, about 40. Both towns are willing to share their experiences with Boxborough.

Boxborough already has one Neighborhood Network so there is a "starter packet" ready for you to adopt and adapt to your area's needs. If you are interested, call Natalie Lashmit, Town Administrator, at 978-263-1116, ext. 101 or by e-mail to natalie.lashmit.town.boxborough.ma.us and she will answer questions, put you in touch with the Neighborhood Contact for the existing network, and get you a starter packet.
